Andrea Mitchell reveals cancer diagnosis on air
NBC's chief foreign affairs correspondent Andrea Mitchell, 64, shared some sad news with viewers this morning, as she revealed on air that she has breast cancer.
"I had planned to be hiking in Wyoming last week," she said. "Mine was discovered during my annual screening just a short time ago. Lucky for me, I'm one of the fortunate ones. We discovered it in the earliest stage, it has not spread, and I'm already back at work with a terrific prognosis."
Mitchell has been with NBC since 1978, and in 1997 she married former Fed chairman Alan Greenspan.
