Gene Simmons, The Marrying Kind
Entertainment Tonight broke the news Thursday, and on Friday publicist Dawn Miller confirmed that Simmons, 62, and longtime squeeze Shannon Tweed, 54, "will be getting married in the near future." (Oct. 1 is the big day, according to several reports.) Granted, the rocker and Tweed have been an item for more than a quarter century, and have two children. In recent years, their domestic life has been documented on the A&E reality show Gene Simmons Family Jewels, which ended last season with a cliffhanger hinting strongly at this new development.
Will married life bring the famous couple a new sense of contentment? Will it boost ratings for Family Jewels -- which conveniently launches a new season Oct. 4, three days after their scheduled nuptials? Stay tuned...
